Try disabling all anti virus programs. Then try the restore. Be sure to re-enable them if the resotre works.

Help, VG? Where are you, John!

I also have lost the ability to do a system restore. I believe it started on 3/22/2013. The system restore calendar is completely blank and the program will not let me set a new restore point or go back to another date.

Not sure what your problem might be, but you should really consider upgrading to a later operating system... Windows 7 would be a good upgrade for you and you might be able to get more assistance with issues.

Good Luck!

Did you try it from SAFE MODE?

I know you want to do a restore but deleting your cookies should not cause you problems except for a few sites that use the cookies to do some configuration settings.

Your PC should be okay.

A hint - before you delete your cookies next time use the IE oprion to export the cookies in case you want to restore them.

What kind of Anti virus software are you using? also what reason are you trying to do a system restore? There is another option you may try called a Factory restore but that is pretty much a last effort attempt when all else fails. i am pretty good with computers and i will do my best to assist you anyway i can. just furnish me with more details.
