Saving Seats @ LSL

Went to see the bagpipes last night, it was good.

Saw 4 empty chairs all alone, nobody near them. Went and took two and moved them into the shade, and the people in the next row started hollering they were saved. Told them I don't think so. The rules in TV state no chairs can be saved at events. They weren't too happy, but didn't get confrontational, at least they were smart in that regard. So what's the story, villagers? Save or not?:boxing2:

This has been discussed and argued several times. To me, if the folks were around the square, then the seats were saved and off limits. If they hadn't arrived, then the seats were up for grabs.

And I will now wait for Bill and the popcorn.

need to know, bobnbev, why do you need to bring this question/topic up again?

Bill-n-Brillo 04-07-2013 12:14 PM

Take some and pass it around........

I agree with redwitch - if the folks were dancing, went to the drink stand for a refill, etc., then they should be considered taken. But I believe most people will leave something on those chairs (sweater, jacket, hat, etc.) as an indication.

Bill

Actually, you don't need to know, but since this is the first time it's happened to me, I felt like posting it. Sorry I didn't get your permission first. :spoken:

I bring my own chairs when there is a special event at one of the squares that I want to see. No issues or confrontations!!

gatherer47 04-07-2013 01:07 PM

same old same old but George is correct-bring your own chairs

DougB 04-07-2013 01:57 PM

I would like to save this spot here for my post until I think of an answer for Bob. Please no one post until after I do.

graciegirl 04-07-2013 02:28 PM

We don't go to big events anymore because of this very practice. I put it on my survey that the event planners need to lower the boom on this seat saving and also on deed restriction violations.

Hope someone will listen and do something.

To me, saving seats is not only bad manners but selfish behavior and since I can't change it, I don't want to look at it.

gomoho 04-07-2013 02:36 PM

Well now I am curious about those that bring their own seats - just where to you sit them??? In front of the regular seats, on the sidewalks, anywhere you choose? Could see if too many brought their own another than we'll have tohave a thread about that.
