Anyone smell Smoke

I live in the Village of Santiago and I smell smoke and ashes are falling here and there around my yard. Did anyone hear anything?

I was at the driving range at Arnold Palmer and noticed smoke on the horizon. I haven't heard anything else about a fire.

We were at El Santiago pool today and occasionally when the wind shifted we could smell smoke and some ashes would float down in the pool.

WEIRSDALE - A 70-acre brush fire has erupted in a heavily wooded section in a dry bed area on private property northeast of Weirsdale and west of the Ocklawaha River, according to an official with knowledge of the blaze.

Ludie Bond, a wildlife mitigation specialist, said Tuesday afternoon the fire may have been caused by lightning from a storm on Sunday.

While no homes or structures are being threatened, there is potential for heavy smoke, she said.

Bond said informational signs have been set up for the intersections of County Roads 25 and 42, and Maricamp Road and CR 25, as well as CR 464B, between CR 25 and CR 314A.

Bond said the fire is not contained.

Here's a good interactive web site where you can see current wildfires. Some east of Umatilla and up around Lake Weir that could be affecting us.
