Saw our first Coyote

Just after Dawn we had a good size Coyote crossed 466A from Hemingway toward Sanibel. Just thought they were a myth. Luckily we did not hit it in the car.

What was a coyote doing around here? Must have been lost. :)

Several years ago I saw a fox walking down East Schwartz Blvd. (east of 441). And my neighbor said she found big paw prints on her car. She thought it might have been a black panther. Who knows?

I have a friend who lives outside of the villages in Lady Lake and she sees black bears, wild turkeys, and panthers quite often. They walk through her yard.

No myth, saw one cross #3 fairway on Destin a few weeks ago. Just above the 150 markers...

I think if these folks look a little closer they will discover the leather collar and id tag around the do oops coyote's neck.;)

A coyote, a Fox or a Panther?

coyote.
the other three in my foursome also saw it.

Back in the late summer last year, we had one walking down the street in our development right after sunset.

We can't be the only folks who have heard them howling here in Santiago. Once in a while and sometimes when a siren is going they'll howl along. Saw 4 together behind our house in the polo pony pasture last fall. Not very shy, just sort of ambling along.

;) With all due respect, does your friend drink a lot?

I've seen two coyotes - one went through our back yard early in the morning.

My neighbor said just last week he was going north on Buena Vista in broad daylight in his cart and on the path in front of them as they approached Laurel Manor Rec Ctr they saw a huge blackish cat walking along in the shade. He said it had to be 60 pounds or more, he thought it was a Florida Panther but his friend said it was a Bobcat. Unfortunately they didn't get any photos.

Yes, Bobcats are here also, I had one going thru my trash bag at the end of the driveway.

I've also heard that if you go down Rolling Acres Rd. at night you'll have a good chance of seeing Cayotes, or at least see their eyes reflect in the dark.
