I need a new roof. Any suggestions?

Can anyone recommend a roofer? If you have had a roof replaced can you give me an idea of what you paid. I have a two bedrroom, two bath ranch approximately thirteen hundred feet.

Thanks in advance for any info you can give.

Go on the Internet and look for the home page of a roofing shingle manufacture. GAF as an example. They have contractor locaters by typing in your zip code. Pick out 3or4 contractors from the list and get quotes. A roof is figured out by the square. A square is 10x10 ...or 100 sq feet. The contractor will have to measure your roof to come up with a price. Up north they charge 275.00 per square, installed. The shingle manufacturers recommend roofing contractors who are trained in the installation of their shingles. Also remember to check out the BBB before you use any contractor to see if the have any violations against them.

Call Quality Services out of Ocala with local office in The Villages area. Jason is their local guy. He does what he says they will do... on time... when they say they'll be there.. they are there. They have done a number of roofs in Rio Grande and in Rio Ponderosa. Jason even included a couple of extra things that I wanted done. Tear off in one day and dry-in, roof on the next is their routine.

My roof was quite a bit larger than yours so price would not compare, but they were $1,000-$2,000 less expensive than re-roofers recommended by The Villages Warranty office.

Be sure to have Jason do the wind inspection report with pictures for your home insurance. Should save quite a few bucks on your home insurance as well.

In April 2012 I put a new roof on my patio villa, I used Batterbee Roofing in Ocala. They did an excellent job. The guy I dealt with was great his name was Justin Blanford.

Scott Smith Roofing. Our courtyard villa neighborhood contracted with Scott, and approximately half of our 80 unit neighborhood had new roofs installed earlier this year. This was a full tear-off, with modern equipment and top quality architectural shingles installed. Scott's crews were outstanding and I never heard one complaint from my neighbors. We paid a little over $5K, but obviously when a roofer does approximately 40 roofs in one neighborhood, his costs are much lower. Check out his website (and no, I don't have any connection with this company other than being a very satisfied customer). Roofing Contractors in Central Florida - Scott Smith Roofing, Inc.
