PUP or PCP

I know this subject has been rehashed over and over....but, need to make a decision. Any opinions about one over the other? The Dr that I am looking at is in both. They both reinburse me about the same. The only difference I can see right now (and its confusing) is the few meds that I take seem to have different co-pays. I do have an agent who I will direct my questions to...just looking for personal opinions from all you good folks.

I do not know about PUP and cannot compare. We are happy with PCP. We have had no problems and the selection of doctors is fine. My husband just had hernia surgery which went well with a surgeon who had good reviews. And we were not surprised with all kinds of extra bills which was the norm before we went on PCP. The office folks in LSL are very helpful.

PUP or PCP

I had PCP and it was fine. My internist quit PCP and went to PUP so I did as well. Since that time I have had a serious health problem and needed a miracle from my internist and neurologist to get my procedures done at Shands in Gainsville. Shands is not normally covered by PUP. We'll see how the rest plays out but I am seriously thinking about not taking any kind of a HMO when I can switch next January.
I have had three scans so far with my "affliction" at $200 a pop copays. I don't even know what the copays will be from my time in the hospital.
Any kind of insurance is fine if nothing happens to you.

My husband is on PCP and the meds he takes was a big determinent. He is a diabetic and he is paying a fraction of what he was paying before he went on PCP. He has been happy with the choice of physicians so far.

We're on PCP---so far we're quite happy with them. Co-pays for sure! Referrals for sure...but as I said we're happy as haven't had any issues come up. We compared before the new year to see if there was anything better and didn't find anything that was.
