We've used Direct Line Cruises for 8 different cruises and have been very happy with their comps. Free travel insurance, coupon book and OBC. In fact we just booked Allure for Feb. 2014 and got the above and $200 OBC.

Try cruisecompete.com. You post the cruise your interested in and the different travel agents come to you with their best offers. It doesn't cost anything, and it's interesting to see all the different offers you get.

You won't find a better deal than shopping for yourself at vacationstogo.com. Just sign in and click onto 90 day deals. Check out the itineraries and the various stateroom prices by clicking the deal number to the left- hand side. After all, if you're retired and can travel at leisure, you won't find a better bargain out there. We've dealt with them for years and have never been disappointed. Just make sure you want the deal before calling and confirming......

Also try cruisecritic.com. They have news and info about all the lines and a "roll call" forum to meet others cruising with you. It is wise to check all of the aforementioned sites as well. I am a big fan of vacations to go as well. Legendary Journeys also has custom packages they put together. Call Maribeth there.

I just came back from a 4 day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas fro $149 per person plus port taxes. Just happened to be on their web site and the deal was there for a couple of days only. Booked the cruise 8 days before the ship left port. Funny, my wife checked the price 2-3 days before the cruise left and the price went up to $459 per person.

Just have to surf all the websites from time to time. We Floridians are lucky that we can go at a moment's notice.

Compare, compare, compare!
Travelocity dot com is my 1st choice to narrow down my cruise options. Then check the cruise line's web page. Finally, call the cruise line's Cruise Consultant to see if they have any special discounts.
Travel agents? Maybe if it is your first venture into cruising, their help can be well worth it.

Try Gate1Travel.com

they have terrific deals on all kinds of trips, including cruises. My friend has taken 6 of their trips and loved everyone of them. They took a river cruise down the Rhine through Amterdam to Budapest and it was the same cruise as the Viking, but they paid much much less....had the same ship, same rooms, same food, etc.

Gate 1 Travel also send special deals or last minute deals if you sign up for them.

I'm another fan of cruisecompete.com. Choose the cruise you want and then let the TA's come to you with offers.

Another vote for vacationstogo.com; have used them for a number of years and very satisfied with their knowledge of the cruise lines and itineraries. Normally always receive OBC (On Board Credits) for each trip. The 90 day deals can be very good and you can also search further out for deals.

also think about getting on the mailing list for cruise lines that interest you. Ask to be put on their "short notice" mailing list. If you can be ready to go with a 2 week notice you will see some very spectacular deals that are never advertised any where else.

We are going to try having a 7 day cruise bag packed and when the cruise and the price is right .....we are gone. There just is no other vacationing quite like a cruise. Pack and unpack once. No driving, no parking, no cell phones, for us a complete electronic disconnection with whatever, security and peace of mind.

:agree: Not to mention being waited on, hand and foot, and being spoiled rotten. Sadly my wife refuses to pull out my chair and place a napkin in my lap after we get home.

We always use crucon.com. Almost always get extra shipboard credits or prepaid gratuities. Plus, prices seem to be best available. If you tell them I referred you, you will get an extra ship board credit on first booked cruise. Send private message for more information.
