The Dow's up big today (Fri. May 3)
 

It's trying very hard to reach 15,000. Not long ago I predicted it would reach 15,000 by the end of the year. I better start predicting 16,000.
It seems there's no stopping this bull market. Hold on to your hats!

Couple of weeks back some economists were calling for Dow 16,000 by year end and others were reading a pullback coming. Who knows. With some of the World economic issues and budget issues here in states coming up this summer we have changed our plan from aggressive to conservative, most of that after a recent 250 point drop. Better safe than sorry.

am watching the same thing - and smiling! 'tis nice to not hafta watch a friday sell-off...guess that will come on monday!

My experience has been that everytime it srises to a new high, investors take their profits causing a downturn. I just let it ride as it usualy restores itself.

You just can't time the market. IMHO

Who is responsible for these high earning numbers. I pulled out of the S&P 500 in March of 2000 when it was at: 1,527.46 If I would have left my money in there, it is higher today. 1614.42 and that is a gain of 85 points in only 13 years.

I agree with you but don't hold your breath. Federal Reserve has said that rates will not change anytime soon. If I remember correctly they are waiting for either an unemployment rate of 6.5, or lower, or inflation increases, whichever comes first.

Guess we have to take the good with the bad. Like the late 70's and interest rates of around 8% and now .025, if your lucky.

Keep rising Dow so my IRA and 401K grow. I want to say adios to my employer in 7 years.
