Restaurant questions?
 

Why is it that many restaurants in and around The Villages think that they must provide some type of entertainment? Much of the entertainment is simply bad..but there it is. As a second part of this, why is the sound proofing in many of he restaurants so bad? I enjoy going to a restaurant that is somewhat quiet so that I can converse with friends without yelling. One case in point is Evans Prairie, hard walls and ceilings do nothing to absorb sound, add to that some loud musician on the patio/porch and you might as well kiss a conversation with your dining companions goodbye.

Aftermarket sound proofing is readily available, how about spending some of that entertainment budget on a quieter environment??

Yea beside the music being too loud for intelligent conversation I find myself trying to "eat to the beat" and that is not good for my digestion.:ohdear:

I would think you could simply dine at an establishment without entertainment.

Old adage: If you can't play well, play loud!

I agree, most restaurants need to cut their entertainment out one or two nights a week or add sound proofing to provide a quiet spot. Entertainment IMHO is a waist of profits. It doesn't draw most dining customers in, it drives them away.

kind of you to remind us of your service - but that service sort of defeats the opportunity to enjoy going out for an evening rather than eat in AGAIN!

It may not draw dining customers but it does draw drinkers and keeps them entertained. Most restaurants make a lot of money from the bar service. That said, I also like quiet dining.

While that may be true for some, it's not necessarily true for all of us. For physical and other reasons I frequently don't feel up to going out to a restaurant or just can't be easily and/or comfortably accommodated at some restaurants where most can. So the service is gold for us and I'm more than happy and appreciative that it's there.

Unfortunately, as we age and become old coggers or fuddy duddies, we like the lights brighter and the music softer. Nothing wrong with that, but don't take the load music and dim lights away from the these 65 year old kids in The Villages. They deserve their time in the lime light like we did years ago.

cane garden, palmer, and lopez don't have entertaiment.

We had our time - been there, done that. I am 63, hubby is 65. We go out with friend of various ages, but want to enjoy their company not listen to some wannabe belting out old tunes at the top of the voice. Hah, guess I'm a fuddy duddy before my time.:MOJE_whot:

Perhaps the entertainment is to distract you from the not so great food they serve.

When I first joined this site, I found a lot of helpful information. In continuing to read the posts, I find that this site is turning into a complaint department. It just moved here and I love it. I guess I need to stay away from TOTV site to avoid frustration and continue with my happy life
