Dental

Am I correct in that PCP has dental and eyecare with their plan and PUP does not? And if this is correct, what dental procedures are covered...such as cleaning, exam? Thanks for any info you can offer.

What is name of the PCP plan? The PCP - Preferred Secure Otion (HMO) has very limited dental and vision- check what the plan covers and the providers very carefully before signing up!

I believe PCP is Preferred Care Partners. We have PCP but also carry our own dental, insurance. To get an answer to your question, call,or visit the PCP people in Sumter. They will give you a brochure on the dental services.

What dental insurance do you have on your own? Thanks

Yes, PCP has Dental and Eye Care. Eye Care for me is great but Dental is horrible for me. I went to a dentist on plan and said I needed $7,000 worth of work. I went back to Palm Ridge Dental, Dr. Kathleen Williams, never going to leave again. The dentist on the plan said I needed Deep Cleaning, which I don't, said I needed to replace fillings, which don't need to be anytime soon. Just ridiculous what that dentist told me! Dr. Williams doesn't fix what doesn't need to be fixed and doesn't charge an arm and a leg like some dentists do, not on plan.

I would be very interested to know which dentist you are referring to as I am signed up with PCP and wish to avoid that situation. Thanks, in advance, for sharing. Jimmie

We have Delta Dental through AARP. For some reason this is separate from the regular Delta Dental. I go to Dr Lesh near Publix on 466. He takes Delta Dental.
