Help Choosing a Cell Phone Plan
 

I don't have any grandchildren to ask, so could some kind person out there in villageland, help me? I want a cell phone that I can rely on and see (LOL). I want a no contract plan with small amount of calling & texting time. Please PM me. HELP!!! I am so confused!

We switched from ATT, we now have more services and our bill is 1/2 what it was with ATT. Consumer Cellular uses ATT towers. They do not have contracts, so they say and know they have to be good because you can leave when you want. We've had them for over 6 months and not one complaint from us.

Try PureTalkUsa. only $10.00 a month for 130 minutes that includes the taxes. Also all unused minutes roll over forever.

Take a look at the Tracfone. You can buy one at Walmart or Walgreens.

Tracfone is great if you don't make a lot of calls. I spend $20 for 120 minutes every three months and have never run out of minutes, but I keep it mostly in case of emergency. Plus, sometimes you can get the phone on sale for $10.

You can buy a Tracfone phone with one year of service and triple minutes on Amazon.com for about $85. That gives you 100 minutes a month for about $7 a month and the phone is essentially free.

I use T-Mobile and buy 1000 minutes for $100 which are good for a year. If you buy more minutes before the year is up , unused minutes are carried over.

One of my biggest mistakes was a two-year contract with AT&T, which I couldn't wait to end....

I've been using Tracfone for over two years, and it has been terrific. The service is excellent, on those rare occasions when I have to make an out-of-country call, the charge is the same as a domestic call, that is, the number of minutes used, the phones are readily available and relatively inexpensive (I shop on ebay; send me a PM for more info), and phones with lifetime triple minutes, as mentioned above, result in a much reduced cost per minute.

A couple of years back, the annual Villages survey asked if I had a cell phone. Yes, I do. The next question asked if it was a smart phone. No, it's a stupid phone: It makes calls and it receives calls! Actually, you can do texting on Tracfones also, though I have no clue how to do so as I have no use for texting. For me it was definitely the way to go, as I have a land line as well; I'm not sure I would recommend Tracfone if it were one's ONLY phone service.

We have Straight Talk. This is a no contract, unlimited minutes, unlimited texting, unlimited internet plan for only $45 per month. You also can get the plan for $30 per month but I believe you only get 10000 minutes, don't know about the texting, etc. This phone and plan can be purchased at Walmart. We have had this phone and plan for six months and are very, very, pleased.
