Palm trees on 466A and Pinellas Place

Has anyone noticed how bad the palms looks in the median of 466A west of
Canal or maybe Buena Vista? Also noticed on Pinellas Place after entering from Morse a large number of Sylvesters that are dead. Actually there were several on the Palmetto course the other day that looked to be suffering. Is there a disease or a bad batch of palms???:22yikes::22yikes:

Not enough water.....

thirsty, thirsty

Can't buy that "not enough water" in the median 'cause that is Village property and they just don't make those kind of mistakes. I also can't believe that many people on Pinellas place would fail to water those trees they paid a good buck for. More too it than lack of water IMHO.

More water

:agree: Although more water would be great and mistakes are occasionally made, these trees have "other" problems.

Not all landscapers put bubblers in when they put in the landscaping, and don't tell their customers they have to water by hand twice a day for 30 minutes after a new tree is planted for a minimum of 10 days... Some of those people had their landscaping done and left. I walk by those homes... The trees aren't getting watered.

As to The Villages trees... They will be replaced and no one will know they died...

There is a belief that if you plant the same trees as The Villages they won't die... Since I've been here... I've watched them replace trees throughout the area, that have in fact died.... Most people don't notice it.

Trust me... When the rains come.... The trees will be replaced and except for you and a few others.... no one will notice.

99% of all plants that die are MURDERED! It is extremely unusual for a plant to be inherently bad/diseased/etc. Plant abuse should be punishable by having a garden hose attached to your hand and being forced to water the plants until the plantings are well established.

The more water that gets pumped out of the ground, the more sinkholes that occur. Perhaps someone made the concious decision to conserve water and figured it was less expensive to replace palm trees than filling sinkholes with cement, which btw is very expensive.

Now that is a reach......................to come to that conclusion.

Actually, putting more water INTO the underground aquifer will DECREASE the chances of sinkholes because replacing the water provides support for the underground structure.
