turn signals

Never saw a place where people do not use turn signals. Not only in their cars but also with the golf carts. At least signal on the rotten roundabouts!!!!

Only if they are street legal. There is, however, one golf cart roundabout on CR-466 that splits into three roads: to Laurel Manor and from there to the tunnel leading to Saddlebrook, to the CR-466 recreation trail that goes to Morse and from there north or south, and the trail that passes behind the Laurel Manor Drive medical buildings to the Buena Vista recreation trail and south from there.

what is a signal for and why would anyone use it? Really just another tool that you don't need. I say go for it. who wants to live forever anyway.

Just keep showing them by your own example. You never know, there might be a few who follow it eventually! :)

Guess you have never been to Wilmington NC???

I married a man from Florida and I determined that it is a "Florida thing" NOT to use turn signals. I lived in Michigan and we always use ours...I don't like it, but have gotten use to it in the past two years.

There is something that happens when you cross the Georgia border with Florida. Sometimes intelligent driving floats out the window.

I just love it when I'm sitting at a stop sign waiting on a car to pass on the street I'm about to turn out onto, and they have the audacity to turn right in front of me without signaling. I usually give them the A-OK hand signal, and nine times out of ten they look at me like they have no idea why I'm doing it. Just totally clueless!! After all, it's ALL about them. Why should they be expected to extend ANY courtesy to others on the road? Silly of me to think they should be bothered.

Turn signals are to indicate your intentions.................not confirm your actions.

Note: You may not want to live forever, but I do!

Unfortunately you may be in the minority as far as turn signals being used in Michigan. I relocated out here 9 years ago, and in the area I live in, it is more unusual to see others (I always use my signals btw) actually using theirs. I am not saying it doesn't happen, but it seems to be "optional".

A friend relocated to a different state and he commented that the people there are VERY friendly and helpful. They are so helpful that if you use your turn signal, they are more likely to stop and let you know that you have a short in your electrical system since one of your lights keeping blinking on and off......

I don't know which is worse, no turn signal or that "going around the world to the left" turn signal that's never turned off

DDoug 05-22-2013 12:17 PM

When I learned to drive we didnt have turn signals maybe thats the problem we never figured out how to use them

rubicon 05-22-2013 12:17 PM

I am afraid that the lack of a signal or too much signal is an ubiquitous problem. Its how the term "defensive driver"came about

From the title of the string I thought this was going to be about the eternal left turn signal. I'm only down a few weeks a year since I'm not retired yet and some of the carts I rent don't have an audible reminder to turn them off so I have gone well past my turn with the signal still going before I realized I forgot to cancel it.
