Short fence around Designer patio??
 

In todays Pre-owned homes for sale listings there is a Designer home in Mira Mesa that appears to have a short, maybe three foot tall picket fence erected around the back patio. (look at the last picture). Are these allowed? Have never seen this before in any other homes for sale pics.

You are correct, of course it would IF we owned a home in TV & were seriously considering adding such a fence to a patio.

But we're still a couple of years away from retiring & moving to TV. Nonetheless, we're already considering our options as to which style of home to buy once we're ready. Had always thought that dog owner's were pretty much limited to a CYV if they wanted a secure outdoor space for a small dog. But after seeing this home in Mira Mesa we were just wondering if short fences were in fact allowed around a back patio. Just thought someone here might be able to offer up a quick yay or nay answer.

They are seen in many places. The point is it is around the patio not around the back property line.

The house you posted for sale is in Lake County which does have numerous fences around cement patios. There was one for sale recently that had a six foot fence around the patio. As stated above, the requirement is that it must be attached to the house. The next time you're in TV, drive around the Lake County portion of TV and you'll see what I'm talking about.

If you play Mallory, the nine holes called Virginia on the west side of Morse. Behind the 8th green a home has a picket fence around the patio. It's been there the two years I've lived here.

I live in Hadley and see tons of patios with railings - not fences. Some folks are really getting fancy these days and building rock walls surrounding the patio - looks terrific, but I imagine is a pricey.

I live in Sumter county and there is a house that backs up to Odell and has a short picket fence around the patio. Looks very nice. I imagine they checked with the ARC first but I think the "no fencing" restriction mainly pertains to fencing around the yard...would look tacky having different fences with houses so close together.

Actually, dog owners are not limited to CYV's. Many of us have invisible fencing for our pets and it has worked out beautifully. An option worth considering.

They must be because someone just built something similar along Oddell just across from Nash Loop. Looks pretty nice.
