Snowbird percentage?

Does anyone know the percentage of snowbird homeownership here in The Villages? Very curious, as my neighborhood becomes much quieter after high season.

i don't think there is an exact number..i enjoy the quiet so its not a big deal...as the neighbor hood gets older more seems to stay part time to full time

past reports have estimated it to be 30-40%.

Keep in mind that this years "slow" season population was a couple of years back busy population!!!

Also the snowbirds are leaving later in the season. They used to be mostly gone by the end of March, now they stay through April.

Yes, I have noticed the definite increase in population during all times of the year. The difference between 2005, when we bought, and now, is amazing. Which is the reason for my original post, wondering if anyone knows the current statistics for snowbirds. I've seen several posters on this site who seem to excel at finding out all sorts of obscure information, and it's those brainiacs I'm appealing to.

I don't recall this being a question at closing or on the last census................so how would it be possible to determine "snowbird" ownership?

Most people that are snowbirds will not claim homestead here. Not 100% acurate, but the Tax Collectors Office should have a record of what percentage claim homestead.

End of March? Those are the crazy snow birds :a20:. We are still here. It is just 60 in MA today :cold:, I can hang a bit more....

I'd bet somewhere around 40% are snowbirds based on my neighborhood and the traffic.

It was 82 a few days ago, but I talked to my sister in southern NH yesterday ans she said it was in the mid 30s and raining. She said that they haven't had any spring at all.

I'm here year round, but if I was to go back, it would be for about three months, June 15-Sept 15. That's the only decent weather they have in Massachusetts.
