The Long Wait

We closed on our home in The Villages on September 26, 2008. We are 50 days away from permanently moving in! There has been a lot of planning and hard work along with a few surprises and adjustments along the way. For those of you who are planning and waiting....keep on keeping on, every day is a day closer to your dream. :a040:

The finish line is in sight...here are the stats:

Duration calculation results

From and including: Friday, September 26, 2008
To and including: Tuesday, July 16, 2013 (Moving day!)

It is 1755 days from the start date to the end date, end date included

Or 4 years, 9 months, 21 days including the end date
Alternative time units
1755 days can be converted to one of these units:

151,632,000 seconds
2,527,200 minutes
42,120 hours
250 weeks (rounded down)

But who's counting ? LOL
It's a long time....but well worth the wait.
Welcome to TV.

Congratulations!

Our waiting period can't hold a candle to yours, but I understand your excitement. We put our house on the market in July of last year. We finally closed on May 10th. We're heading to TV to a rental in just a couple of days. :MOJE_whot: We'll be shopping to buy something for as long as it takes.

We're so looking forward to the move. It's been a long wait...well...not compared to yours maybe! :clap2:

Hope to see you soon! :icon_wink:

carm, You are in the home stretch, and the finish line is in sight. You will be croaking soon -- congratulations! Chicago's loss is The Villages gain!

Hey Carm310 Congrats
While you were waiting did you rent? If not, how often did you visit?
We're closing on August 1 but we won't be moving till 2015.
Just curious.

Thanks! We rented our property until a year ago. It was full every winter from January through March and some weeks in April and May. We had a week or two rented occasionally the rest of the year. It helped cover some costs, although we did not buy/rent for that reason. Our rental experience was very positive with a few minor issues that our property management people handled very well.

We came down three to four times a year for a week or two. It gave us the opportunity to get to know some neighbors, make friends and see what life will be like. We have terrific neighbors/friends waiting and cheering us on until we get there.

want to buy now and have long wait!

Want to buy within year but cannot retire for another 3 years(Jan 1 2017)Thinking we could rent out Village home in the interim, thinking prices may start to soar and have to buy now or pay higher RE prices down the road. Good idea?Easy to rent?

Hello,
May I ask what company you used for property management?
Thanks.
