Sumter Landing Photo

My husband surprised me by framing one of my Sumter Landing photos as encouragment to keep "clicking away" with my Villages acquired hobby of photography.

That was a very thoughtful thing for him to do. But I can see why he would frame one that beautiful photo too. Nice job on both your parts.

That's a great photo, a perfect setting with the flowers. Here's one I took in 2011 that I used to use as my desktop. I would never take photos and now I carry a small camera with me at all times. It's amazing how using a camera can be addictive.

I forgot to ask, where did he get the photo framed? Thanks

Wow John what a fabulous photo:). Addictive is an understatement I am often out at dawn.... Hubby framed photo himself with pieces parts from michaels

OK, that good news because we go to Michaels a lot of the time. How did you blow up the picture to that size, did you take it to a printer.

bkcunningham1 05-28-2013 06:11 PM

The photo you took is gorgeous, John. I can't speak for where shrandell got her photo enlarged, but Walgreens, CVC, Walmart and many others do it now. You can take your camera straight into the store and someone will assist you on the spot. I had some photos enlarged from my camera and was surprised how cheap and how easy it was to do.

Yup Walgreens and a coupon:)

great job..sams club does a nice job with photos and if you want to go to canvas the price is right

susiejwill 05-28-2013 09:29 PM

What would each of you recommend to a novice as an easy to use, reasonably priced camera?

John_W 05-28-2013 09:31 PM

Thanks - that's a lot of good info. It never entered my mind that I could make wall art from my photos. I was just in Sam's Club today, I'll have to check them and Walgreens.

Beautiful picture and how thoughtful of you hubby to have it framed.

I bought a Sony DSC-W670/ Digital Camera about six months ago as my Christmas gift to myself, that's it below but mine is black. I got it on Amazon.com for only $79.98 with free shipping. I just checked and it's now $128.19 on Amazon. I use to use a Fujifilm camera but due to it's size it's not practical to take with you unless you're going out for the purpose of taking pictures. Now with this camera, I just put it in my pocket and if I see something I take a picture. Nikon has an even smaller camera, I can't think of the number, but it shiny chrome and I've seen it on sale lately for $99 at Target and other places. I would suggest browsing Amazon and then going to Walmart or Target and then touching them. EBay also has a lot of cameras and they are new in the box.

Shrandell, how nice of your husband. You're becoming quite adept with your new hobby. Your picture is lovely. What a good idea to blow up pictures of TV and frame them. I miss TV when we're in Ontario for the summer. I have so many pictures of TV, it would be wonderful to have some on my walls here in Canada. Thanks for a great idea.
