Spousal insurance when you're not 65

Does anyone have an answer to finding reasonably priced health insurance for your spouse if you are covered by Medicare and your spouse still has 12 years to go before Medicare kicks in!

OH, I can relate to this...hubby is 64.5 and I am 54. We have United Healthcare through his pension and when his Medicare kicks in, I will stay on UH at a greatly reduced rate. of course, we'll have to find him a decent supplemental insurance.

Somebody told me about health insurance they have called Go Blue. It's through Blue Cross and doesn't care about pre-existing. I am going to check it our next week for my husband. You might want to as well. The number is 800-545-6565.

The insurance exchanges for Florida under the Affordable Care Act will be on-line by Oct 1, 2013. If possible, it might be worthwhile to wait for them to be published.

Yes I have an answer. Write down what medications, if any you taking. Write down do you smoke, and hows your health. Get your old drs name and address along with your medical reports. Then contact 3 agents and have them help you place the policy. Fiqure out how much of a deductible you want then go gettum.

Here is a website for GoBlue Florida. You can get quotes on many types of plans there. After starting with your zip code, then click "Help me choose a plan" and it will guide you thru a quick online process of quoting plans and premiums. It asks questions about how much deductible you'd be willing to pay to keep premiums down, etc. Also, it has one choose the "extras" like dental etc. that would drive premiums up. On a trial run thru it, it came up with 43 plans with various levels of coverage, and about 2/3 of the premiums were in the $200-$300/mo. range...there's a lot available affordably if you limit coverages to the essentials.

If problems with pre-existing conditions, go to the states' PCIP plans here:
