Coming Soon Bowling Alley

Saw a sign next to O'Sheas on 44 this morning. Coming soon Bowling Alley.

Isn't that State Rt 44 and the south side? Which means the bowling alley wouldn't be golf cart accessible and outside of TV.

Sorry Skip I was just surprised about the location.

a real shame that it is not golf cart accessible. maybe a new bridge is slated to go over 44?

I was talking to the manager for the restaurant side of Fiesta Bowl Friday afternoon. He told me there are no current plans for a bowling alley at Brownwood. He said they would need about 24 acres to build a bowling alley because of the parking lots. The impact fees for the state of Florida, according to this man, would be over $800,000. That doesn't include any other costs. He also said the bowling alley that is being built is owned by a man named Patel (sp?)who owns one of the hotels. I can't remember which hotel.

He owns the Holiday Inn Express on 27/441.

24 acres?? That's over a million square feet!!

Cowboys stadium in Dallas covers approx. 73 acres. Doubt that a single bowling alley w/parking would take up about a third as much as that monstrous facility.

Is bowling this popular in TV, to support a third alley?

skip0358 06-23-2013 07:55 AM

Rumor has it a Holiday Inn Express is going next to the Bowling Alley.

That $800,000 in impact fees seems a tad high also.

A third bowling facility will fill up just like the two existing places.

When you go on the trolley tour they say the #1 sport in the villages is bowling. It's always seemed hard to believe when you think of golf and all but that's what they say!

justjim 06-25-2013 04:54 PM

Ain't possible

I too remember that. I don't know what "funny math" they use to come to the conclusion that more TV residents bowl than play golf but it just ain't so.
