Intermittent Fasting Benefits -clear and concise

Just read a really clear article on the many health benefits of intermittent fasting and thought I would share. It has info about the affects on brain function as well which relates to a question that VPL had on the Ketogenic Diet article that I posted earlier.

B & N has a book on special ($6) called The 8 Hour diet which has great info on it too. It has been amazing for us. DH had to get new jeans and belt as he is now down to size 34 at 6' which he hasn't seen in over 30 yrs and I am down to size 6 which I don't remember wearing since I bought my own clothes in my teens. That wasn't the reason we changed to this timetable, but it has been a bonus.

The resetting of our metabolism and the accompanying health benefits was the main reason and we are very pleased with the results and it hasn't been a struggle. Like with any change that you make, you get motivated if you see results that you want, and it gets easier to maintain.

Another study in the British Journal of Diabetes and Vascular Disease. The full text article may only be available for a limited time online.

Makes sense. Not too unlike Atkins although lower in protein than his diet I believe.

It's very effective and easy to do. We have been doing this for two years. If you want a book explaining it, get the 5:2 Diet Book, on Amazon, $2.99 for Kindle edition. You really don't need a book, though; it's so simple. See our article at Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss and Health

World's Oldest Man Dies in U.S. at Age of 114 | Fox News

Walter Breuning, worlds oldest man, died in the U.S. at age 114. He attributed his longevity to eating just 2 meals per day, among other things like working etc.. He only ate breakfast and lunch and the only medication he ever took was aspirin.

His wife died in 1957 and he never remarried. They had no children. Some would say that lonelyness is bad for your health and might shorten your life. But perhaps for him it represented peace of mind. It's not the same for everyone.
