Landscaping Overhaul Timing
We close on our house later this month. While the standard landscaping on a new house is okay, I would like to add curbing and maybe have some of the plants changed out. Is there a recommended time of the year to do new planting?

we are going to live with ours for a year and then revisit...but i would think the fall would be best...or a landscape company would know better

There really isn't a bad time of the year for landscaping... However, new plants and transplants take a lot of water.... We are in the rainy season now.... It could be an opportunity missed! Water is costly here!

Have to agree about this time of year - temperatures are hot, hot, hot; however, we have rain, rain, rain. It really is dry in the fall and winter and although that is the normal preferred time to plant you would be watering extensively. Haven't been able to get an answer on this - mostly I hear anytime in Florida works!!!

From talking to various landscapers, it seems the best time is late spring, early summer. Reality is almost any time works but during the really cold (for Florida) periods. You're still going to have to water every day for 30 days and that's going to be costly, but you won't have to run the water for as long in the summer because of all the rain as you would in the fall or winter.
