Farmers Market Garlic Bulb Monopoly
One Vendor is the only one allowed to sell garlic in the farmers market and the price is unfair. This is what I was told, it is hearsay, but there is no garlic for sale at most of the vegetable vendors.
We tried to buy garlic in the Farmers Market and there is only one vendor that sells it. The price is $2.00 each head. Outrageous! They said it was imported from Mexico and made it sound special. We just bought 4 heads from Publix for $2.19 (2.99/lb) imported from Mexico. The reason for the post is I was told by other vendors that they are not allowed to sell garlic due to an agreement that this vendor has with The Villages. This vendor is not selling product from Florida or even the USA and has priced it at an unreasonable price. They describe it in a way to make you think they imported themselves, which I doubt. |

They have rules. For example if you sign on you must be there for ever opening. |

So buy the garlic at Publix.
As the saying goes, "Take it or leave it." |
I think garlic is $1 at the Market of Marion. Buy it there.
