Speed sensor
Does changing the magnet on the speed censor on electric carts really fool the controller into letting the motor run faster.
|
Yes the revolutions of the motor are counted by the magnetic sensor on the motor and send the count to the controller. If the magnet starts out with four points on the magnet each
revolution equals four counts to the controller. That being said a six or eight point magnet fools the controller of the speed. |
Do you sell these or can you get them.
|
Yes we do, but it does depends on the type of cart and controller, that effects the speed.
|
Frank does this apply to Par Car carts also?
|
Sorry, not on Par Cars.

Frank, Do the golf cart dealers in this area generally inform their buyers of carts to be used in The Villages that simply owning a cart that is capable of exceeding 20 mph is in violation of Florida law and exposes them to significant liability?
Or, are buyers supposed to find out on their own? |
Good question. Wonder if you will get an answer?

Golf cart speed
When we talk about speeding up golf carts, generally 80% of the time it is taking the golf course speed setting of 14 MPH ( Factory Settings) to the legal speed of less than
20 MPH It is no secret what the consequences of speeding are! We are advocates of golf cart speedometers to keep everyone legal. |
