Leaving Rental Truck overnight
Hi all
I am moving to TV in early August to Spanish Springs. After I unpack, I will need to park the rental truck overnight in a safe and acceptable area before turning it in the next day. Is there a procedure? Is there a proper place outside the neighborhood? Am I on my own to decide? Thanks in advance for any assistance or guidance.:22yikes: |

We parked our rental in front of our house...only had it there for a couple of days. IF you keep it locked it should be o.k.

I had a rental truck parked in my driveway for a couple of days when we moved in with the first "load". My next door neighbor came over and asked me when was I going to move it. Wow. I was kind of flabbergasted but told her it was going back soon. She wasn't real happy about the reply. She is a great neighbor but still I was kind surprised as it wasn't really bothering anyone being parked in my driveway.

I'd heard motor homes were allowed at your house for 72 hours. It seems a rental truck should be ok for that long, especially in your driveway.

driveway is fine unless you got unlucky with neighbors

If it drips oil, I wouldn't want it parked on my new driveway! What about parking it at one of the mail stations or rec centers?
|
Most likely will be tagged by community watch at mail station or rec center.

The best thing to do is contact the district government.
VCDD Contact Us They'll have the right information for your neighborhood. |
Contact neighborhood watch. You will be allowed to park it at a rec center overnight.

in your driveway, its only overnight

We are moving down in September. I checked with our Village home designer and in the course of moving you are allowed to have a truck or POD in your driveway for a short amount of time.
Can't wait.... |
well, it depends on your neighbors
...at our rental home in Sunset Pointe, we had a truck parked for a short period of time, but our very sweet neighbors (insert sarcasm) called the police on us...the morning we were moving it a deputy knocked on the door to tell us we needed to move it that day....we had checked on parking it at Rec Ctr (Miona right around the corner) but they said no...anyway, just a word of warning. These people came out of their house on the night we pulled in w/the truck and yelled at us that we were not to drive the truck over their sprinkler heads, that by the way were not ever in any danger...yelled at a friend of ours who was visiting that she'd better move the golf cart immediately as it was in front of his house when she was merely moving it out of the driveway for just a moment while changing car positions.....very unhappy people...sorry, had to vent!!! chilout
