Why are some of the bicycle riding clubs so rude?

I walk and run frequently in the villages. Like everybody I use the residential streets and cart lanes. There is an alarming trend of organized bicycle groups hogging the road. They ignore stop signs, travel faster than the posted limit on many street and generally intimidate walkers, runners, motorists and golf carts. When passing, dangerously close to walkers, they shout their instructions to each other and I don't think they know how disconcerting it is when a walker or runner doesn't expect it. They do not seem to be the slightest bit friendly as they speed by.

I believe it was bicycle riders that initiated the saying "Share the Road." Now it seems they don't want to share it, they want to own it. :cus:

They have the attitude that they have the same rights to the road as cars and carts.I will be only too happy to grant them the same rights as I have as a motorist as soon as they register and insure their bicycles and put on windshields, signal and head and tail lights and observe the rules by not riding on cart paths and sidewalks.Whats right is right.

I agree that bicycle riders are the worst offenders of the rules of the road. I have had 3 near misses (2 in my car and 1 in my cart) and they were all due to bike riders failing to stop at a stop sign. These riders didn't just glide through the full stop sign, they were peddling full speed and when I hit my brakes to avoid hitting them, I received a one finger salute in thanks for not running over them.
