Irish Pub, first visit

Tried the Irish Pub tonight for the first time. My husband had the Sheoards Pie and I had the Reuben sandwich. Both were excellent. Service was terrific. Very nice experience. We'll be back!

I believe that they are speaking about O'Shea's Sports Pubon 44 in Wildwood, which is not actually an Irish pub but is really a sports bar. That particular location has gone through several names. At one time it was a Sonny's BBQ, then it became The Speckled Butterbean, and now O'Shea's Sports Pub. I had lunch there once and was underwhelmed.

It may not be filled with all "Irishmen" but I think it is about as close to an Irish Pub as you can get near the Villages. I think the huge wrap around bar, food and tons of seating, inside and out, is fantastic. And the service and staff are VERY friendly. Everyone should give it a chance. Wednesday is all you can eat fried chicken and it is really unique and delicious. they also have all day happy hour and specials everyday on food and drinks.

In my opinion the haddock is to dye for, the burgers are great, and my husband loves the shepard's pie. They have fun, entertainment and great bartenders, managers and owners...

Isn't it funny how reviews can differ so much? Everyone has their own taste and opinion and if you think you would like to try it, then you could establish your own opinion. Unfortunately, O'Shea's is thumbs down for me.

Improving Every Day

I'd like to personally apologize to anyone who may have not had the best of experiences at O'Shea's Sports Pub. I would like to assure everyone that we have and are continuing to get better each and every day. If I would of been aware of these situations, I can promise you that I would have fixed each and everyone of them to the best of my ability. Believe me our goal is not to be substandard. To our guests that wish we were more Irish, we are currently writing a menu that contains more traditional fare. If you have suggestions, please feel free to post here or give us a call. We are the restaurant, we can change things to better us in your eyes. In the advantage of that, we are not a corporate chain, just a few people striving to make our guests happy. Give us a chance, if you have any advice we will listen, just as you so nicely have here today. Thank you.

We love the restaurant and employees, including you Mike. We agree that if people have special requests or any concerns, they should talk to management first. I truly believe it is inappropriate to complain about a restaurant because something may not be "to one's personal tastes" and especially if they have not tried to address their greivances with the restaurant itself. We need more restaurants, especially down where O'Sheas is, so we don't want to see restaurants be criticised and lose business without giving them an opportunity to address the issues. And if it is just an issue of taste, feel free to find a place that is more to your liking. But we know for a fact that many, many people love O'Sheas and want to see it suceed. Give it a chance as it just opened not too long ago.
