Rae Rae's Restaurant

Went here for breakfast this morning with a group of 7. Fantastic meal. Everything is homemade. Quality ingredients being used in this place. Clean, clean, clean. Husband/owner out front, wife/owner doing the cooking. They do lunch as well but have not tried that yet. Prices very good.

2468 Hwy 441/27
Park Central Plaza
Fruitland Park, FL 34731

I totally recommend.

Let me jump in because I'm a fan of this place. For those of you that remember Tim from paulys pizza in SS, he is the owner of Rae Rae's. the help is super friendly and the food is delicious. I love their corn beef hash and also think that their home fries are the best I've ever had. I don't know what they do different with their biscuits, but I almost think I'm eating cornbread, and when I add some of their pan sausage gravy to them.....heavenly! If you want to try something different, get their catfish and grits. I think it's delicious!

Well everyone had their eggs differently prepared. Sunny side up guy said she knew what she was doing (he is very picky so sigh of relief). Mine scrambled just yummy. Hubby had fresh egg whites, other guy over easy, perfectly done. Grits were creamy but not pasty. Potatoes were so flavorful. Biscuits were fluffy, cut in half and placed on the grill for a slight grill color. Corn beef hash was good but prepared differently than I'd ever had. Probably would ask for less butter when being prepared. Had guava jelly and mai tai jelly along with the standard fare. Coffee is ground fresh in the place.

Hope that helps!

We also had a late breakfast there yesterday morning. DW had the french toast and hash and loved both. I had bacon and eggs over with a pancake. Bacon had the best flavor I've ever had and the eggs were cooked slowly which makes them very tender. Pancake was excellent with a hint of vanilla and biscuit and homefries were great. Didn't need to eat again for another 7 hours.

P.S. Chatted with Tim and the highway construction is killing his business. If you can get out there please help support this great place.

We also went for breakfast at Rae Rae's just last week. Absolutely wonderful. The husband and wife team are friendly and I agree with the other poster, that it is a very clean place. We have been to the Fruitland Park Cafe (and we love it there too) but we find this place a bit more roomy. One could seat a large group and the bathroom is accessible inside. Everything is made from scratch, except the eggs come from chickens. Their coffee is $1.55, which is well below some of your other main breakfast places. Their address is 2468 Hwy 441/27. There IS construction going on and it could be tricky. But, once you get the hang of it, I'm sure you will be a regular there. From 466 A (going past Colony and Burke's Barbecue) hang a left on Poinsietta. Make a right at the end of the road and it will bring you to 441/27. Make a right and it will bring you to the Park Central Plaza on your right. If you have passed that Western "whatever" store, you've gone too far. It's a little tricky, but, you'll get the hang of it. Nice varied menu and the prices are what I'm looking for!!!!

I agree, that construction must be killing many of those small stores. It's a horror to get around there. Can't wait until its done, IF I'm still on this earth, LOL....

Hey, Tweety, next time you go, give me a call. I'd like to join you if I can!!!!

I agree Rae's Rae's is good, but I still like Fruitland Park Cafe better. And coffee there is just 50 cents. This morning I had 2 eggs over, hash browns, bacon, coffee and a LARGE OJ for $7.50. And the construction is a huge issue for them as well.

My husband and I go to Rae Rae's every Sunday and meet with friends for a great breakfast and chit chat.....Everyone at Rae's is so pleasant and don't make you rush to place your order......don't know why I have to study the menu ,,,,,,I can't get enough of their pancakes with whip cream and strawberries and that's what I always get. Love this place and all the people who work there.

In answer from a post back in June, My wife and I finally tried this place and will certainly go back. Breakfast is our favorite meal and we're been about everywhere within 1 hour of TV. The food was excellent and I've got to agree with BarryRX that their home fries are the best. My wife had to bring much home with her since they really filled your plate. Prices were good and the owner, Tim, and staff were as friendly as they come.
They are really hurting with the construction on 441 and I hope they can hold out until it is complete.

Another vote for breakfast at Rae Rae's, the portions were ample and the food was outstanding. Being a "Girl Raised In The South" "GRITS" were great also. Will most definitely be going back!!
