Hotels around St. Pete Beach
Any suggestions for BEACH FRONT hotels?
|
i love the Sea Chest on Treasure Island. Mid-modern architecture from the front to the back based on the Sarasota School of mid-modern architecture. Ask for one of the large apartments on the end of the motel for the best rooms they have. Also there is one on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool that is nice.
Privately owned and clean, clean, clean. The TI beach is very wide and there is a sidewalk along the beach for easy walking. Check it out on Trip Advisor... "http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g34693-d617888-Reviews-Sea_Chest_Motel-Treasure_Island_Florida.html" Also on St Pete Beach... a restaurant "The Wharf" is a personal favorite for seafood. I've also done a review on that restaurant on Trip Advisor as well as the Sea Chest. As a little guy, a few years ago, family stayed at The Alden on St. Pete Beach. It is much larger than the Sea Chest and not the charm and architecture, but still a nice place to check out on Trip Advisor. Hope this helps...BTW, I love the Sea Chest... would retire there if golf courses were more abundant! Dean |
Stayed at the Bilmar on Treasure Island last month. Nice room, beautiful beach, and a Slopppy Joe's on the bottom floor.

My high school, St. Petersburg High class of '68 is having our reunion this year on St. Pete Beach. I left St. Pete in the 70's, but obviously many of my classmates still live there and hopefully picked something nice. They chose http://www.Sirata Beach Resort.com/. The place looks really nice from the website and rooms are only $119 in November, from a quick glance the summer rates are about the same.

Grand Plaza, St. Pete Beach.

Check out the Postcard Inn's website. It's a smaller hotel right on the beach with a fabulous tiki bar. It was mentioned in the newspaper as a place locals recommend to their out of town visitors.

We just moved from there - we had lived there for years. Friends of ours own the Sirata - it is a nice resort. The Tradewinds is the biggest resort on the beach. The Postcard in is fairly new and gets good reviews. The Grand Plaza is another really nice resort. The nicest hotel is the Don Cesar. St Pete Beach is a great place o vacation.

The "Postcard" is "like new" a good choice, imo.
