History buffs: Andersonville POW camp during Civil War
 

There is a fantastic movie out called Andersonville. It's hard to find. Amazon has it. It tells what happened and is very sad.

I found and read the diary of one of the Andersonville prisoners on free Google Books. Horrific. He wrote there was so much vermin you could see the ground move. Some prisoners formed gangs to steal food from the rest.

We have visited twice and recommend it to our friends traveling on I75 in GA.

Well worth the visit. It also has a museum that depicts POW conditions and artifacts from all of the USA wars. Very interesting and informative. POW's really suffered through tough times in all war actions.
