All villagers should check into the Contractors and Services Forum for some information we all should know. This has been going on for yeatrs and might save us all some headaches.

This is something all Villagers should be aware of. The moderator felt my posting belonged under the Contractors and Services Forum. Scroll down thru the menu listings and you will find it. Basically ir related to a plumber doing work in the Villages who has a F rating from the BBB and over 30 complaints from Villagers.

Before having any "major" work done (set your own threshold for "major" in $$$$$), the wise person would do some checking for reputation, licenses, etc. I suggest three places to check:
First, Call Seniors Vs Crime and ask about any complaints on the company. They can be reached at 352-753-7775 at the Marion County Sheriff's Office or 352-689-4600, X4606, at the Sumter County Sheriffs Office (both in The Villages). They can also assist you in verifying a license if you need that help.
Second, check the company with the Better Business Bureau. Simply go to Check Out a Business or Charity - Central Florida BBB and type the company name and only the state (FL) for the location.
Third, check for complaints filed with the Florida Division of Consumer Services. Go to their web site at https://csapp.800helpfla.com/cspubli...esssearch.aspx , click on 'Business/Complaint Lookup' and then type the name of the business in the Name box and click on SEARCH.
