I believe it was in yesterdays Daily Sun (08-14-13). The heading was: "A case for the value menu: It's not as fattening."
In general the AP writer did a pretty good job but failed to take one important thing into account. It's true that a value menu item costs less and has less calories than a "premium" item. However, a hungry adult will not likely be satisfied with one value menu item. If you buy two or end up going back for a second one, you then will consume more calories than if you had bought the premium item. So the savings in money and calories by buying a value menu item is most likely bogus, unless you are prepared to leave hungry. |
