Historic district seasonal residents

This was prompted by a different thread, but do other residents of the historic district notice much of a difference in traffic or crowds during the summer vs winter months?

I kind of don't, but maybe I'm singularly unobservant? My wife claims so!

The traffic on 27 is what it is year-round. We mostly grocery shop at the Spanish Plaines Publix, which is pretty much not crowded at any time, at least compared to Spanish Springs or Southern Trace. The businesses along the highway in that area seem to be patronized to a large extent by Lady Lake/Summerfield residents (going by age alone), so there isn't much change there. Big stores like Lowe's, Sam's Club, Home Depot, Target, etc. are busy no matter what.

I will concede that Spanish Springs is noticeably more crowded.

I'm going to have to agree with your wife on this one.

I find it always best to agree with the wife.

Happy wife, happy life. That is what I taught, errr...I mean what I heard my husband say.

I live in Silver Lake and I can tell you that several of my neighbors go north for the winter.

I'm with your wife. Being observant is not one of your virtues, sorry.

Just on my cul-de-sac on the Historic Side, there are six out of 15 homes that house snowbirds who are not here during the summer months.

About the same in my not quite two year old village.

In my area of Sanibel----about 25% I would guess are gone for the summer. No valid statistics on snowbirds that I know. But maybe there is......

Oh, poo. Well, I'm not telling her you agree.

Maybe we give the guy at Shay a clicker and he can count cars.

And I'm sure the district will share their log of entries at Boone and Wales.

You don't have to count cars. The seasonal influx is way beyond what TV can handle. I know when I have to wait 5 full minutes to get onto Odile from my neighborhood that traffic is very heavy indeed.
