Bamboo

I have a friend who is having surgery Monday and want to buy her some bamboo stalks, the traditional good luck plant. I'm wanting to buy them tomorrow. Does anyone know where I might be able to find these here in The Villages or close by? I know Ikea in Orlando sells them but I don't want to travel that far. I called Walmart and they don't sell bamboo. I'm wondering if Markets of Marion might. Anyone know or have other suggestions where I might go?

what you're looking for is not really bamboo; it is Dracaena sanderiana which is sometimes referred to as lucky bamboo when it's grown twisted & contorted. When you called Wal-Mart they probably thought you were asking about bamboo to plant in the ground. Every Wal-Mart, every Lowes, any Home depot should have the "lucky bamboo". Just look in their houseplant dept.

The Wal-Mart on 466 has a whole bunch of the twisted bamboo plants back near the registers in the plant department.

Thank you for the responses. I'll check Walmart and if not successful will go to Market of Marion. Again, thank you so much!

I actually remember seeing some at Publix in Colony Plaza not too long ago.
