Whole House Water Softener
Who has a water softener they are happy with and would recommend? I know my "friends" will come out of the woodwork with this question trying to sell me something.
|
We don't have any and don't feel the need.
|
We have a Kinetico and love it.

We have a whirlpool softener that we bought at Lowes. I think it was around $450.00 plus about $200.00 for a plumber to install.
The water here is fine but very hard. A lot of limestone. We have softened our water over forty years and just like soft water. |
We bought one at Sears. We love it!

Almost all water softeners don't filter the water they only soften it.
Some have carbon but loose carbon not a carbon bloc, big difference between those, loose carbon allows pass through due to channeling, this is because water can push the carbon around finding a channel to essentially bypass the carbon. So what you get is chlorine, sediment and metals to cook and shower (fill your pool & spa..... to stay safe. Hard water has not been reported to be unsafe. We recommend not installing water softeners (and I can sell/install them) rather our three stage Whole House Water filter See this page for more info https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...als-filter.jpg Installed for $495 . |
