Historic Brinson-Perry House
The Villages map notes the house at Buena Vista Blvd, St. Charles and Bonita Blvd as The Historic Brinson-Perry House. This house sits just West of the fire station on the Northeast side of the roundabout. Does anyone know any more about this house and why they left it there? Was it moved there? I live in Poinciana and when we have visitors they ask and I don't know what to tell them. It looks fine there and would like to know the rest of the story. Thanks |
Villages of Lake Sumter 'I House' Restoration
Photo Library Constructed about 1885 and added on to several times over the years, the Brinson-Perry house is located east of Oxford Florida. The reconstruction of CR 466 to a four lane urban facility pushed the road too close to the house. In order to preserve the historic structure and return it to its turn of the century appearance, the house was moved approximately four miles southeast to a visually prominent position, adjacent to a new fire station. The structure was rehabilitated to fire department offices and file storage. |
it originally sat at what is now the Northwest corner of the intersection where Arby's is in front of the Wal-mart. A lot of old Oxford is going away due to development

Thanks. I enjoy learning that kind of stuff.
