Those great dividing lines on the cart paths

I am so glad that no one asked me if I'd have thought that dividing lines on the cart paths are good ideas 'cause I would have laughed and shook my head no. Wrong!!!!! Not only do they keep carts on the right side of the path but I've noticed the speeds are slower. Souped up carts can only "go fast" if they cut the lines and most Villagers "behave". Excellent idea!!!!!

Those lines on the "cart paths" are just wonderful. My husband and I now feel somewhat comfortable to ride our bikes on the paths and we try to maintain 12-15 miles per hour so as not to "hold up" the speeders too much. Those golf carts are more respectable and stay behind us but really "fly" by us to pass. We have noticed that most carts now are slower on the paths and stay within the lines. We have though in the individual villages clocked many carts at over 25 miles per hour.

I thought the lines were just another waste of our amenity money just like the recent added signs at the Glenbrook gate telling cart drivers that the cars have the rightaway. I'm glad to hear that you think the lines make a difference. I will be away for a few months so I guess I will have to wait and see.

Remember to drive in the right lane...now that there IS an official right lane. I heard a rumor that The Villages is planning to post signs to that effect as well as reminder that "playing chicken" with oncoming golf cart traffic is strictly forbidden.
