Tree removal

Need someone to cut down a 20 foot tree ( not a palm) haul away and clean up.
Any suggestions for reliable person.

I can't give you a name, but be sure to talk about the stump. I had a tree removed and the man was supposed to remove the stump below the ground. It did not happen, so I had to hire someone else to grind out the stump. Now, all is well.

don't forget if over 4" in diameter you need approval

Hmmmmmmmm// Didn't know that

Pardo is OK, just don't pay in advance and make sure all the work is done before you pay - it may be hard to get them to return if they leave something undone yet have been paid. Also, you need ARC (Architectural Review Committee) removal PRIOR to removing any tree over 4 inch in diameter at the base. Big fines if you do not have prior approval so make sure you have it, in writing, in your hand, before they start the work.

Thanks to all for your advise. I did not know about the ARC. I will contact them, I do not need a fine!!

How do you contact the ARC?

OldManTime 08-29-2013 06:00 AM

The ARC is a committee made up of residents from each district, you will not be contacting them, but you will be filling out an application (in your phone book) and submitting it to the Deed Compliance group, you can call them at 352-751-3912

That's only true in older districts, for instance in #9 it is run by Marty Dzuro a VP of the Villages

Several years ago we went before the ARC to have a Live Oak removed. We had to produce a picture of the trunk measured 2 feet from the ground and the with of the trunk. I used 2 measuring tapes while my wife took the picture. Also the person we dealt with ( can't remember his name or title) was very old and was biased against women. My wife knew all about the project ( I''m just arm candy) and he refused to speak to her --I had to repeat her sentence and he would reply to me. the picture was definitive re: diameter so he had to ask an aborist who gave his OK. All in all a distasteful trip back to 1956.

Thanks for this recommendation, Babbs. I'm in need of a tree removal. Any other recommendations out there?

I highly recommend Rupert Cross (352/406-2564). He's good, won't take money in advance and stands behind his work.
