we're the MILLERS

in one word 'TRASH" especially for the kids today. we could not help but wonder how the couple in front of us could take their what appeared to be 10 yr old to a movie like this other than the fact they wanted to see it so therefore it was ok to expose their child to garbage.

Parents really need to preview what their kids might be watching. It's just NOT cool to allow the anything goes mentality anymore.

Jennifer Anniston could have picked a much better film to be in.

save your money and spend it elsewhere. We love comedy but his bordered a trashy comedy not worth seeing.

That looks like something I would wait for the DVD.

Jennifer Anniston was on a talk show last night promoting this film. I was a little um...surprised at the clip that was shown on TV.

Did anyone else see it?

Maybe I AM an OLD biddy. sigh.

jimbo2012 08-30-2013 08:26 AM

Good, very funny, not for kids.

justjim 08-30-2013 09:08 AM

No need for "trash language"----I know there are some who use such language all the time but not around me or my wife----the friends we choose have a bit more ediquette. Enough said.

I said the same thing about 'The Heat' with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock, every other word was the F word. Usually before I can give my opinion of that film, people will say that's the funniest movie they've seen in years. Read the reviews of The Heat on this website, it seems it's OK for that film to be so filthy but not for others. I liked The Heat but the filthy language ruined it somewhat for me. That's why I've decided not to see The Millers.

When I think back to some of my favorite comedies such as Animal House, Airplane, Caddy Shack, Raising Arizona, O'Brother Where Art Thou, you almost never hear the F word in those films but yet they are the best comedies.

This was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Yes it is adult humor not intended for a 10 year old.

Is it subtle humor or more slapstick/frat-boy humor?

Just laugh out loud humor. I definitely would not have wanted to sit next to a 10 year old for this movie, but I found it hilarious.

Tracy1581 08-30-2013 10:17 AM

some liked it. Maybe I'm becoming an old fart. lol I just find the underlying messages disturbing such as being a drug dealer is cool and funny, being a stripper is cool, being gay is of course cool, being homeless is becoming a norm. Abnormal is cool. Anything goes, anywhere , anybody.

the part I found the most disturbing I guess was when the adult tells the kid to go "suck the guys's blank (can't say it) was disgusting!! some of it was funny but overall ruined by the message it would send to younger generation.

maybe I just don't get it anymore. With all the tolerance of everything today, when is enough enough.?? we grew up with Little Racals, Dennis the Mennis, and thought those shows were funny. Do we REALLY need movies in theaters that debate over who should suck whose ???? Isn't that going a bit too far?? Would you want your grandchildren to watch something like this?? Wish Hollywood would start producing movies that promote values, morals and good character. Our kids are in desperate need of these types.

I would settle for wet your pants funny in the way THAT used to be funny; double entendres, timing, the pause, mistaken identity. etc. etc. etc.

I loved Laugh in. Please don't laugh at me.

Hi. I'm Fanny Farkle!

I saw the movie. Funny, but definitely an adult movie. The movie definitely deserves the R rating it received. Not a movie for a 10 year old. Not a movie for a 15 year old. Bad decision on the part of that couple to take a 10 year old with them.

I agree. I would see it again. It is rated "R" so why would you take a 10 year old to it? There are plenty of kids movies always playing here that they can be taken to.
By the way in real life this language is what is used for this age group. Makes it realistic.

jimbo2012 08-30-2013 04:57 PM

:agree:

Watch HBO, I suppose that will be an eye opener for you.

That language is spoken often, it is 2013

BarryRX 08-30-2013 05:38 PM

Heck, just watch reruns of Law and Order SVU which comes on at 3:30 in the afternoon. I don't know how they can have subject matter like that on before 9PM.
