HP printer
 

I have an HP Photosmart 7510 All-in-One that does everything OK except for photos. 99% of my printing is just documents. But when I try to print a color photo it comes out blurred, wrong colors, completely unacceptable. Of course I've been on the phone with HP, but nothing they suggest is any help. They sent me a new printer head. Didn't help. The thing is still under warranty. Should I insist they give me a replacement printer or what? I am at my wit's end.

Have you tried changing the color ink cartridge? Maybe is a bad one. When my printer is running low on color ink the colors are blurred and distorted as well. Just a thought.

It happens with brand new ink cartridges. I think I"ve spent more on ink than a new printer would cost.

Are you using genuine H P cartridges. Not refilled cartridges?

I read on line that possibly calibrating the printer might help. There may be a calibration setting on the top of the printer under setup. Worth a try.

I personally have had nothing but problems with HP.

Their printers use ink like crazy, and most of it never gets to the paper. I just read a detailed article in Consumers Report about how the ink cartridge goes through a set up and maintenance routine each time the printer is turned on and that, itself, uses most of your ink. Now that is just crazy!! Printer ink is more expensive than gold. Seriously... They showed the price in bulk and it is astronomical what we pay for printer ink, and most is wasted on internal operation of the printer.

We print mostly black and white, so that explains why we run out of magenta and blue and yellow all the time. If any one color is out or low, the printer won't print.

I seriously will never buy HP again. This one goes to the dump when we move to TV.

The last HP printer I bought I am very disappointed with so will be looking at another brand when the time comes.

Do what the others have suggested (calibration) which I am sure HP SHOULD have suggested already. Demand a new printer before your warranty is up.

If you are having problems with an HP printer, that is an anomoly. I have used HP printers exclusively for the last 23 years. I have never had any problems with more than 40 different models. Always use HP ink. Don't turn off the printer. Don't let them sit for weeks on end without printing. Make sure they are calibrated. When printing high definition photos, use the advanced settings and use HP paper.

You will be good to go.
