GHIN vs GolfNet

We are new to TV and settle on our home next week. We belong to a G&CC in Maryland that uses GolfNet (probably the most widely used system dor posting USGA HC info.) apparently, in order to play in golf events in TV you must maintain your scores on their GHIN system.
We have several questions:
How do we get on GHIN?
why dont Villages courses accept USGA sanctioned HCs?
Does TVs GHIN use only reflect scores at TV courses?
We will be "butterflies" for a couple years, when using GHIN, do we begin with posting our last 20 scores (from GolfNet) so we can play in events ?
Can TVs GHIN be accessed from anywhere from the Internet?
What is the annual charge for being on GHIN?
Any other coments or editorializing is appreciated.
Than you.

Or you can visit one of the many golf shops at the championship courses and speak to the pro or their assistants and they'll be able to answer your questions and help you get set up. Taking the "Good Golf" course is a great start too.

Actually the GHIN system is the most widely used handi-cap system by a significant margin. You can get all the information about GHIN by going to their web site. By signing up and posting your last 20 scores you will have an assigned GHIN handi-cap.

The cost is approx. $18/ year.( Jan./Jan.)
I post all of my scores on the GHIN app. plus each proshop has a terminal.

Thank you all who responded. We learned a lot and also called golf administration and signed up for the good golf seminar too.
As Charlie Harper once said, "I understand!"
