Programming Garage Door Opener
We have a new build Iris and finally decided to program our car remotes so we don't have to use the original ones. We have done this before at our former home without any problems. So far we've tried:
Following directions in car manuals Following directions in door opener manual Calling Ro-Mac and following their directions On each of these attempts, all of lights blink like they are supposed to. The car remotes still can't open the door. I called Home Warranty and they referred me to Ro-Mac. Ro-Mac wants $49.95 to come out and think they can program one of the cars but not sure about the other. Home Warranty doesn't cover programming the remotes. Ro-Mac said they aren't responsible for that unless we requested they do so when the unit was installed. Difficult since we were up north while our house was being built this spring. We're very frustrated. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Barbara |
One thing I tried in a non-Villages home was to have the opener in the car and activate it while doing the programming. I will be trying to program my Villages home when we get there in November.
That's the only thing that would work. |
The original codes didn't work ?

I also have tried to get the car remote to open garage door. I failed, many have tried and failed. I simple put a one of the remote controllers in my car and that works fine.

I, too, struggled to get the remotes to work with Homelink in my car. I finally cleared out all the codes and decided to try again. This time I started the car and tried and tried to program again. By golly, it worked! I think having the car in the on position or running with no codes in the system was the key. I then needed to reporgram the house up north when I got home and it worked immediately.

I finally figured out how to change the codes on the remotes and re-program. I was also able to get my Honda Odyssey home-link to work (it is a 2002). Every car home-link is different it seems but the hand held remotes should work. PM if you need help.
