Specialty Doctor that treats Short Bowel Syndrome also known as (SBS)
 

Can anyone recomend a specialty type Doctor who treats patients with Short Bowel Syndrome also known as (SBS).
Possibly some type of Gastro specialty doctor wave although many are not trained for (SBS).
From here at TV to Ocala /Tampa/Orlando is OK.

There are a group of gastroenterologists on 441/27 not too far from The Villages Hospital. I see Dr.Charlie Han and I know of Dr. Lily Tran who practices there as well. There are three in the practice, but I can't remember the name of the other one. Each has his/her area of expertise.

Dr Han was called in to see a friend of ours with bowel blockage and successfully treated her and it was she who recommended him to me.

He was also called in to treat another friend who had a bowel blockage and had had surgery in the past with adhesions and a large hernia, and Dr. Han sent him to Shands for his very complicated case.

I always respect when a specialist sends a patient to another specialist. It makes me trust him more.

There are all kinds of sub specialties. You might check Shands hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, or go in and talk to Dr. Charlie Han.
