Re: Health Ins.

I have medicare but my wife, young thing that she is, does not yet qualify.
She had Blue Cross/Blue Shield which seemed pricey even before their last big jump in rates. She is now with an AARP plan for much less money.

Are you paying too much?

You may not need to pay the full balance charged by health care providers after they accept payment from your health insurance firm...except for the co-pay.

something else about the LSV

One thing you need to be aware of, just in case you don't know:

If you have a private healthcare policy (too young for Medicare, for instance), be sure you are still using doctors in the healthcare plan and make sure they file a claim (unless you have to do it yourself) in order to get the preferred rate - in other words, you only owe the negotiated healthcare rate even if you owe for the entire doctor visit.

For instance, you get sick and go to your primary care physician - normal charge may be $140, but healthcare insurance rate may be $71 - you haven't met your deductible, but you only owe $71, not $140. The $71 counts toward your yearly deductible. All plans are slightly different, so double check with your carrier, but this is how most work.

And - everyone's quote for private healthcare is based on age, pre-existing conditions, health history, and weight and whether smoker/non-smoker.
