trash pickup question

I live in The Villages, will they pickup an old mattress put on the curb?

Please consider posting it on Sumter County Freecycle.
It will be gone very quickly and some needy family in Sumter County will get to use the old mattress

If you call 352-748-0109 which is the number for Sumter Sanitation and tell them you have oversized pick up they will arrange for the guys on the truck to pick up on their next day. If you do not call, they will drive right past. If this number is not correct, they will direct you to the appropriate number.

I have The Village Phone book with the heron on the front page. The first section of that phone book has several pages giving Community Service Numbers for The Villages, it is invaluable information.
