Buying PC BUT not at Best Buy

Can you give me a suggestion of where to buy a laptop PC? I am currently fighting with best buy re: new TV with maintenance contract but they can't seem to get it fixed! They are having trouble with their vendors, not a good sign for future of best buy

Thanx

You can check out Dell Official Site - The Power To Do More | Dell Sometimes they have special discounts on selected models

I've been searching myself and went to the HP website to see what was available and price. Then went to Amazon.com to read the reviews. I will probably buy on Amazon then buy a warranty from www.squaretrade.

I just bought a laptop at Best Buy but I immediately got a warranty from Squaretrade.com for $70 for 3 years which includes accidental drops and spills. This way I don't have to deal with Best Buy if something goes bad. I insure everything with them including my big screen TV and washer and dryer.

So many factors go into what people think is best......

I think it's quality & service. Price RARELY matters.

For computers in this area I use MMD.
Located on hwy 441/27 just south of hwy 466 on the west side of the road.

I've had really great luck, and great prices buying refurbs on eBay.

Hi,

If THEY are having trouble with THEIR vendors, then that's
THEIR problem, not yours.

If you have a maintenance issue with them and you have
a service contract, if they can't fix it, just tell them to
bring you a new TV. It never hurts to call their corporate
offices, keep notes on who you talked to, time and date.
Don't be afraid to ask for a new unit if they can't properly
fix the old one in a reasonable amount of time. That's part
of what you are paying for. Just my $0.02 ...

I bought my last one at Sam's club. Best price around. I never buy a service contract anymore because I have never needed one. Sam's does offer one though. I figure a computer is only good for 3-4 years anyway then it's of of date. The one I just bought is an "All-In-One" type with touch screen and I love it.

Costco is also good, they automatically add a year to give you a 2 year warranty and then as we recently found out, American Express adds a year on top of the Costco 2 years. We really lucked out with this recently when out TV started having problems about 3 weeks before the 3 years were up. Got if fixed for free and both the Costco and Amex service reps were extremely friendly and helpful.
