Does anybody hand embroider?

My wife is looking for someone to monogram (hand embroider) some handkerchiefs for my sons wedding. Does anyone know who does this sort of thing? Tried custom apparel at southern trace and they said they could not do it with their machines because fabric was to delicate. Please call Donna @349-1522 if you can help.

i do but sorry not in the villages...if the material is too fine,,,you will need a backing so thread does not pinch or pull the fabric., which will not look great on the back side...it the embroider will not do it you might want to think of stamping ink instead...

Check the rec news for the embroidery or a needlework guild. Give them a call and maybe someone in their club would be willing.

I have done several of these when I had my embroidery shop with my commercial machine. I have even embroidered on toilet paper. Have them use two layers of tear away on the back and solvy on the front and slow the machine down to 600 stitches/min. Also use single line underlay.

Thanks so much. If I don't find another solution, I may go back there and talk to the machine operator about your suggestions. Appreciate the info!
