Homeowners insurance - looking for a recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation for homeowners insurance on a new house?

Thank you!

Bizdoc 10-11-2013 04:15 PM

Call Elaine Fisette at Allstate. She writes homeowners ins for several Florida companies. 352-753-4340. They are located in the shopping center in front of Walmart on 466 in Buffalo Ridge. Her husband does the auto insurance.

AAA at Avenida Central ask for Dianne. They also offer coverage for sinkholes. If you are a AAA member, your rate may be less. If not a member, worth it to join. They also have competetive auto insurance.

Additional flood insurance?

Thank you for all of your recommendations!

Do most residents also purchase additional flood insurance?

My wife and I just bid on a property on Paradise Lake. In love with it already and
we aren't visiting it until Sunday. But we were just told we will need flood insurance also.. Any advice? Anyone know of a company who will work with insuring a mfr home? and what is the avg cost?

I went to Greater Florida Insurance in Leesburg and got a better rate than The Villages Insurance, Call Brad at 352.365.1222. I found that he is very knowledgable and can guide you thru, what is best for you. Their price is for a policy insured thru American Integrity and was about $250 dollars cheaper thasn The Villages Insurance quote. He also insures golf carts, as that policy is best kept separate form the homeowers policy.

I have my car insurance, thru The Villages Insurance, and got a great rate.

It doesn't hurt to obtain quotes before you buy a policy as it's best to shop around. Both these places are excellent to deal with but why pay more for the same policy? Compare apples to apples, when looking at what the policy includes.

BTW - If one is told they need flood insurance, they need to know whether their property is in a flood zone, and or near a retention pond. If not, one does not need flood insurance. IMHO

You can add flood endorsement on most manufactured home policies.
