Gutters

Why don't the builders put gutters on homes? I bought a ranch in Amelia and need gutters. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Our Stoneybrook came with gutters all around our house.

Re: Gutters

we had Hill's do ours....good price, good performance. They are in the Daily Sun. We put 'em up because we were used to them up North. Not sure if they are absolutely necessary here. Keeps the rain runoff from creating grooves in your lawn.

Villages 07 , Thanks for the reommendation. Will call them. Also have them up north and was surprised not all homes in the south have them.

We also used Hill's Seamless Gutters and were very pleased with them. They installed the gutters on the back of our ranch home.

I have a hard time believing that a house was sold without gutters. Isn't that part of an inspection check....for Pete's sake.

:) :agree: Hills did a great job..they were reliable, efficient and reasonably priced. By the way TV consider a ranch home with gutters in front of house...as a selling point..Dont you know thats what "house comes with gutters means down here?" Unreal isn't it!

Re: Gutters

TV practice is to only put gutters over front entry door and any other doors where natural roofline would get you wet while coming and going....they do NOT put them all the way around.

Termites need water and I believe a house without gutters provides more water around the foundation to satisfy these Little buggers.

We have the Stoneybrook of the Savannah Court Yard Homes. We have gutters all the way around our house. Not only that, but our new home came with ceiling fans in each room and window treatments (mini and verticle blinds)
We've been very pleased with everything.

Yes, mine came with ceiling fans and window treatments. Loved that! Had light kits put in fans. So will get the gutters as per everyones recommendations. Thanks!

Since the houses in TV are on slabs, there are not the typical "water in the basement/crawlspace" issues that are found up north. The soil is so sandy and porus that water will not stand for long. I don't think it is required by code, hence it is optional.

We used Alamo Gutters got 6" for the price of 5", they were reasonably priced and came out when they said they would and did a nice job, check the Daily Sun.

We used S&S (352-299-4530) for our gutters, they came on time did a great job and the price was lower then all of the other companies I called.

Re: Gutters

It seems like many people have used S & S for many different things! Glad to hear about them!
