A Lesson With The Legends 10/21/13
So disappointed in the way The Villages mislead ticket buyers for this event! My husband and I bought the Eagle Tickets so according to the map printed in the paper we would be guaranteed seats in the first 3 rows. Not so we arrived to find The Villages had put in seating for 8 or so rows (not sure of the number as we didn't count) for VIP seating which ended up being maybe at most 1/4 filled. The map printed was a blatant lie! The "VIP's apparently paid a lot for special privileges mostly ended up staying in the Polo grounds building meeting the guests of honor and enjoying catered food. All well and good because hopefully most of the money went to the Veterans Organizations. Just upset we were misled!

Two unhappy out of 3,000 , that's not too bad.

We also went to the "A Lessons with the Legends". We paid $95 each for our Eagle tickets, but by the time we got to our seats the really "good" seats were taken. We still got to sit one row back from the VIP seats. Yes there were many seats in this section that were empty, but we still got to see most of the action from where we were. It was so hot that day that my husband and I kept having to find some shade away from the seating section. The stars of the show were hard to take pictures of because of the top covering of the tent. It was too dark. Other than that we had a great time and we both learned a lot about our golf game. Afterwards, I got an autograph from Jack Nicklaus and he commented on my turquoise necklace and asked me if I was a Native Indian. I told him yes and that I was Arapaho from the Wind River Reservation. He said it was good to meet me. The event could have been more organized in different areas, but because there were so many people there it was hard to control the flow. I commend all of the volunteers because they did an outstanding job!!!

Make that 4 out of 3000. My son paid $98 each for two tickets in the eagle section so he could take his dad for his birthday. And he, too, was disappointed that the seating he purchased was not "as advertised".

All of the money went to charity, just try remember the positives of that.
The Villages didn't profit from this, just provided them a venue. |

I know that other venues can rent the Polo Field. We were there at a customer appreciation party on Saturday night hosted by our former Villages Sales rep and he said that he had it for 5 hours (5-10 p.m.). We bought our lot and built in 2003. |

Gracie, you read the OP does it sound like a negative agenda? They stated that the MAP did not simulate the tickets they purchased...i would also be upset if I payed that much $$ thinking I would be in the front 3 rows and ended up 8 back. I also live here "full time" for 12 years and I also think that this is the greatest concept for senior living......but ....I do not live with my head buried in the sand. Everything in TV is not perfect and making postings ALL the time that it is does not paint a true picture

That is all I was trying to figure out. Then they were misled. I am wrong. |

Thank you. Its a sorry situation when someone cannot voice an opinion without being labeled negative, having an agenda, etc. |
