Auto insurance

My home state auto insurance is coming up for renewal on about a month so I wanted to switch it over to a FL carrier and re-register the cars.

I called Village ins. where I have the home owners and they could not get good rates at all.

I don't want to call 99 companies because they hit your credit report each time.

So the ? is who did you find with competitive rates?

If you don't mind posting or PM'ing what you paid it may be helpful as well

Shop without giving your social. Progressive seems to be the cheapest for first few runs. I shop ever 6 months and normally save hundreds.

AAA quoted me a lower rate than The Villages Insurance.

We have Allstate in CT and FL. Check with your current provider.

I have Geico.

We have State Farm and the insurance is higher than in Virginia. I have a 2013 SUV and the insurance is $340 per 6 mos. and we have super credit and no dmv violations. It is high and we are considering talking with AAA and see what they will do for us. Others on this forum have mentioned that AAA gave them a great price.

Jimbo, if you are a veteran try USAA.

Call Sumter-Marion Insurance...they represent several carriers.
One office is near Publix on 466.

I shopped around before we came down here last week and was surprised to find that Allstate was by far the lowest rate. I have a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country Touring-L and am paying $355 for 6 months. Plus if you remain accident free you will receive a check from Allstate- not much, maybe about
$12 each, but every little bit helps. Up north in Wisconsin I was paying $550 annually with Erie, but they don't do business in FL so I had to switch companies. State Farm was the highest at $477 for 6 months.

My 2013 Honda CRV is insured by Geico for $670 a year. I pay $1200 per car in Long Island for my other cars. Young adults still on my policy.

Auto ins here is about the same as Norcal but the DMV fees are much lower. The CA renewal on our 2008 1 ton Dodge Diesel truck we use to tow our travel trailer was nearly $500, Fla title trf was about $80 and annual license about $135.

Auto insurance in Florida is more than double of what I pay in NYS. I have Safeco up North and pay for full coverage which is higher than in Florida, $644.50 per YEAR. My quote in Florida for just about the same coverage is $1,424. Progressive is $986 per year, and Allstate is $1400 a year.

Maybe us NY's are are being penalized? :22yikes:

I'm going to start calling some of Co's in the next day or two.

Started out with Villages Insurance but have left them for Florida Farm Bureau. FFB had MUCH lower prices than Villages and gives better service. Plus you support a very worthwhile organization by being a member.
